Back on Board After month of expected and unexpected events, live seems to go on in normal ways. In the matter of unexpected events, I would like to say thank you to my family and all my friends for their support and excuse myself for the chaos. It is good to know that someone is missing me when I am out of order. So thanks a lot and be sure this would not be for forgotten ;-) As you know me, the logical procedure now is to keep the head over the water and go back to business. As result the business-section on gellertstreet has to be updated. My studies are over and I signed for a new job near Bremen. Unfortunately, Dresden has to be left behind for some time. As many people before I felt in love with this city and it is good to know that the infrastructure for spontaneous visits is already prepared (thanks to Christoph). Like 2007 and 2008 I spend some days for sailing in Croatia. This year the trip was done with two yachts. In this point I have to say that sailing is always good for social studies and beside the enormous nature and the feeling of being free, this trip was very valuable in the matter of social behaviors. In conclusion my sailing fever is getting stronger and I am looking forward to the next sailing adventure. 
The journey section will be updated next time with some more details about Croatia and his Islands.

Sunday 23.8.2009 Still alive The last weeks, my diploma thesis keeps me away from updating gellertstreet. But now, I am ready since quite happy. There will be a meeting at my academy in early September where I get my chance to present my work and finally get the grade. The study at all is going to finish at third of Octobre with a formal ball organized by lovely fiancee and a close friend Frank.  Of course, the last weeks also included some moments for keeping away from scientific work. For example there was a beautiful weekend at my fiancées place near Bonn at the beautiful Rhine. The picture above provides you an image of German summer.  There was also a weekend at my parents place. We took some time for a visit in Görlitz, one of the European cultural hot spots. Monday 15.6.2009 Food retailing and corn Since last entry, the world has turned several times (15x). My last exams are over and I am just prepearing for my oral diploma examination. My lovely fiancée and I decided to learn at ours place in Western Germany directly near Bonn at the beautiful right Rhineside. The image above was taken at the careers day organized by the Lebensmittelzeitung. Yes, the one left is me, listening to a selection of speakers of German and international food retailing. It gave me a good orientation for market situation right now and some future perspectives.

Since yesterday Horst Köhler was voted again for being president of Germany. The election was not very sensational, the election campaign also. This might be the only country where a campaign for president will be rewarded when it is silent and modest. But this is the way most of us like it. So congratulation to Horst Köhler and please do well.
Sunday 10.5.2009 Web 2.0, 3.0, 4.0.... and a discount Good morning on this rainy sunday here in good old Saxony. Beside learning and writing there are some new features on gellertstreet.com. Because of the "Web 1.0" character of this page, I am trying to connect gellertstreet.com with different social networks. After using twitter an being present at facebook, I launched a myspace page. The ability of creating a profile with an own design seems interesting to me. So I tryed to fetch myspace in the gellertstreet design. Prague in detail Just back from a little trip to Prague with my fiancée, I immediately post some pictures. Trying not boring you with typical tourist pictures, there are some pictures of details found in this stunning city. We had a warm and very nice day and enjoyed our trip. The last three days I got the chance to visit a part of Lidl headquarter. The greater view on the company I am working for was very impressiv and gave me some new facts and inspirations for my dissertation. Maybe there are also some future perspectives in the matter of finding a place in the company after finishing my studies. back in action After spending weeks in Lampertswalde by passing a practical training as head of department in the shipping area of the local Lidl company, I am now back concentrating on my studies. As always it discusses relevant matters in keeping business successful in times of financial crisis. Besides handling with crises and imminently exams, my camera is always by my side. Friday 27.2.2009 the art code experiment Today there is something new for all the gellertstreet enthusiasts (now should be one more since 5.2.09). The shop is now including prints in colour codes used on gellertstreet.com. For example the green one in this blog. This idea is inspired by a print I saw in a friends office, which only appears to be grey. So watch for yourself in special-section and enjoy the beauty of simple colours.
Monday 23.2.2009 man at work As you noticed, the blog frequency on gellertstreet.com is getting lower. There are many things to do for me right now. I am just preparing my degree dissertation and this keeps most of my attention. But work on gellertstreet will move on. So I hope to recieve new pictures for journey-section from all over the world. A friend of mine will start a world tour next week and just like me he is alway armed with his digital camera. Last week I made some improvements in handling this website. Tuesday 3.2.2009 Financial crisis and process management Today, I spent most of my time at the library of the Technical University of Dresden doing some researches for my degree dissertation. The subject will be close to relevant challenges in process management in my current job at Lidl. So I am looking forward to safe some ideas from theoretical view into the real life. In order not to be a publisher of a boring page, I spend a little time for some changes.
